User Tips

It is highly recommended that you use the site specific option for your
practice design scenarios. The vegetative list is more user-specific and regionally accurate.

Most VegSpec data entry screens are dynamically built as you enter data.
As an example, when you enter your State on the Site Description screen,
VegSpec makes the list of applicable Soil Survey Area Id's and Climate
Stations available.

It takes a few seconds to transmit choices, like selecting your State, to
the VegSpec computer, then transmit the applicable choices back to your computer.
You will often need to wait a few seconds after making selections for your
screen to refresh before you can make the next selection.

The Planting Design section is only available once you have selected plants.

It is critical that you always use the VegSpec navigation buttons
near the top of your browser window when moving from screen to screen.
Do not use the browser back or forward
arrows. If you use these arrows, your selections will not be saved and
your results will not be consistent.
