Soil Map Unit

A Soil Map Unit is a kind of soil, combination of kinds of soil, or miscellaneous land type or types that can be shown at the scale of mapping for the defined purposes and objectives of the survey. Soil mapping units are the basis for the delineations of a soil survey map.
